Survey or Salvage Area for Underwater Treasures

Treasures hidden on the land but also in the coastal areas are also covered by the Philippine Treasure Hunting Law. You need to acquire the necessary permit before you can proceed with your operation.

At the time of this post, the application fee for a treasure hunting permit cost 10,000 pesos. This fee might not be fixed where they could charge a much higher amount of price sometime in the future.

Assuming that you have finally acquired your permit to conduct treasure hunting on a certain area, this does not mean that you can freely go anywhere and do your operation as you please. There are actually some restrictions.

On your permit, it is indicated and the area is limited to twenty (20) hectares. You should not go beyond your limit especially when there are other group of treasure hunters who also have salvage operation near your area.

By having a permit issued by the government, no one can stop you from exploring that underwater area. Unless, the government themselves have decided to terminate your permit due to some valid reasons.
